2010 - Snow bound!
Like most of Lincolnshire, HF was under 18 inches of snow this week. With HF being a primary 'on the road' business this has led to severe problems that have tested both staff and equipment.
Underneath the cover of very deep snow HF staff knuckled down this week and just got on with their jobs to keep the business running. The shows don’t always stop due to weather and HF staff had to be onsite as normal. Temperatures plummeted to over -20 degrees at HF headquarters and things were made more difficult by frozen vehicles. Diesel froze in the fuel lines and made them virtually impossible to start, couple that with the icy roads and it was certainly a testing time at HF.
HF drivers however with their 4x4’s were out helping members of the public with their stuck cars, towing people to safety. 4x4’s with off-road tyres have made a lot off difference in the snow and most HF drivers concur that ordinary tyres are just plain useless in the deep snow! The guys have been out and about with tow ropes helping our staff and others get to work safely.
Unsurprisingly this week most members of HF staff at some point were heard to say “brrrrrrrrrr! It’s bl*^dy cold.”
